Debating is a fun and engaging activity that allows students to develop their speaking and presentation skills. It is also a way for students to showcase their talent for speaking in public and allows the students to represent Crestwood High School in local, state and even national competitions.
Crestwood High School offers students the opportunity to enter some prestigious public speaking competitions. The plain English public speaking award for students over 15 years of age is held in Term 2 and the legacy public speaking competition for students under 15 is held in Term 3. In addition, we complete in the Metropolitan West Debating Competition and the NSW Debating Competition.
Students may also be able to participate in a range of speaking competitions throughout the year including mini United Nations and debating training days at the Western Sydney Univeristy and the University of Sydney.
