Year 10 and 11 students are trained as tutors in a TAFE (technical and further education) accredited course to improve reading for targeted students.
- Students meet in the library each morning from 8:25am to 8:40am.
- Tutors work with students on texts they will use in class.
- Reading and comprehension skills are improved.
- Students gain confidence when approaching classwork.
- It is a settling start to the day.
This program has proved to be extremely valuable, with students average an improvement of two reading years and Year 10 and 11 students gained leadership skills and confidence.
