On Tuesday and Wednesday of Week 10, Crestwood's Girls Oz-Tag team competed in the Champions of Champions State Final's Tournament at Barden Ridge, after qualifying via winning the Western Sydney Region Tournament in Term 2.
The girls played 9 games over the 2 days, competing against teams from all over NSW, including schools from all of the various systems. They finished the group stage undefeated, winning all 6 games and progressed through to the quarter finals against St Pius, winning 5-1. In the semifinal, they came up against a strong Holy Spirit College side and managed to fight back from 2-0 down with 3 minutes to go, to win 3-2 in extra time, setting up a Grand Final against Wadalba High School. The girls saved one of their best games to last, winning the final 3-0 to be crowned State Champions for 2022, a huge achievement, with over 140 schools entered in the state-wide competition.
Congratulations to the following girls: Macey, Tegan, Jordyn, Sybella, Brianna, Nicole, Cienna, Sienna, Tasha, Ella, Jasmine, Talia and Sophie. Special mention to Talia who was voted as Players Player for the tournament.
